Hard luck to the Banner Junior Hurlers who lost out in the division 5 league semi final by a single point for the second year running score 2-09 to 16 points to inagh kilnamona in Crusheen on Monday evebing. There was some confusion at the end of the game as many in attendance had the score as level at the final whistle. The confusion stemmed from a point apparently awarded to Inagh-kilnamona during the second half where the signals from the umpires appeared to be that the ball was deemed wide. The GAA really need to put Hawk-eye everywhere :-). At half time the Banner led 2-06 to 0-7 having played with the wind in the first half. However, we only raised 3 flags in the second half as Inagh-kilnamona converted 5 frees and 4 from play to narrow the gap and go ahead in the closing stages. Praise must be given to a number of lads playing their 5th game in 8 days. Promontion from 5b to 5 a was achieved for next year with the championship continuing in the coming weeks.
