Banner 2-09 Liscannor 1-12
An excellent second half display meant that the Banner Junior Footballers ground out a well deserved draw at the Banner on Sunday afternoon. Trailing by 5 points at half time the home side dominated possession in the second half and worked the balls through the lines very well. The half back line of the Collins brothers on the 2 wings and Cian Rynne in the centre were winning their line and initiating attack after attack. Mark Cleary in the Banner goal made some vital interceptions at times to start counter attacks and once the ball got as far as the Banner half forward line the team looked dangerous. Daire Walsh at centre forward got some excellent scores, including a cleverly finished goal and Danny O'Halloran and James Coakley got through and amount of good work. In the end the Banner side could have sneaked a win but a draw was a recent result. It was great to see how well supported the team were on the day and thanks to all the supporters who came to the pitch to cheer on the lads, on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Let's make a habit of cheering on our adult teams in our home games in both codes over the coming months.
