This year was the first time that the Banner fielded a second adult hurling team in both the League and Championship, operating with 2 different panels. Last week the season came to an end for the seconds panel when they were defeated by Kilanena in the first round of the Championship. The fielding of a second team has been important this year in giving our youngest adult players an opportunity to get games at adult level as they are still developing from underage ranks. Well done to Donal Marron who took on the job of managing the team this year. The panel should be stronger next year with more eligible players coming through from Banner underage teams.
