Banner 4-18 Clonlara 1-07

In their first home game of the league on Sunday, our adult Junior Hurlers first team had a great win versus Clonlara on a scoreline of 4-18 to 1-07 at the Banner GAA grounds on the Shanaway Road in Ennis. Congratulations to all involved both players and the new management team that has been put in place. The adult teams both hurling and football have been training hard since late January and the fruits of the work is now starting to pay off. It is also great to see the local supporters coming out to support our adult teams, particularly for our home league games.

Saturday marked another milestone in the history of the Banner club, when we fielded a second adult hurling team. The team played at home in the Banner versus Wolfe Tones, and though they were defeated they put up a good display in their first outing of 2019. The entry of a second adult team into adult competition is important to present development opportunities for the number of players that are now coming through in the Banner from the underage ranks. The team is managed by Donal Marron and both panels have been training together since January.
