Clondegad 3-9 Banner Ennis 3-4 at Ballynacally.

Playing away in this round, The Banner left their dominant period too late in this tie to get a result. The Banner missed a few good scoring chances early and then the home West Clare side put some nice moves together to take a 4 point lead with some good interchange of play. Thanks to good work around the middle of the park Banner eventually settled  and worked some good points to trail 1-6 to 0-3 at half time. After conceding an early 2nd half goal, the Ennis lads finally got some rhythm and started to test the west Clondegad. Despite a strong finish it wasn't to be but our lads gave a spirited performance to the end. With a better final ball they might have  come closer but it wasn't to be last evening.
