Banner Match Action This Weekend

As the evenings get longer, league and championship action across the clubs teams in the Banner is really starting to ramp up. Our under 16 footballers have played quite a few rounds of action over recent weeks, but many more Clare club competitions are starting up over the next 2-3 weeks. Our fixtures for this weekend are on the fixtures section of our club website.

U21 Hurlers in Championship Semi Final

The biggest game of this weekend is our Under 21 hurlers who will play in the Championship semi final on Sunday March 24th @ 12pm in Newmarket-on-Fergus. Our opponents will be Inagh-Kilnamona who had a big win over Clonlara last weekend in the quarter final. Our lads qualified for the semi final with a good win over Clarecastle on March 10th. The team have been training since January and are managed by Tom Meehan, with Pat Devitt, Jonny Martin, Liam O'Reilly, Cian Rynne and Fiachra Hayes in the backroom team. We would ask as many supporters to come and support the lads on Sunday in Newmarket as the Banner aim to reach an Under 21 Championship final for the first time in a long time. Best of luck to the lads.

NOTE: For spectators , expect traffic to be heavy around Newmarket on Fergus on the morning so allow extra journey time. Dont PARK on the double yellow lines as there is a traffic warden on duty there now issuing tickets during matches!!

Junior Hurlers

Our adult Junior Hurlers take to the field at 4pm on Sunday versus Feakle in Feakle in the opening game of the 2019 hurling league. Having been narrowly beaten in last years Championship final the lads have been trainign since January and are keen to progress. With the growth in our adult playing numbers, we will also be fielding a second adult hurling team this year. Our Junior 1 Adult hurling team is managed by Tommy Liddy , with Pat Devitt also in the coaching team. Best of luck to the lads in the first competitive outing of 2019.

Under 16 Footballers

Championship Game in Lees Road versus Clooney Quin @ 1pm on Saturday

Under 12 Footballers

Our under 12 footballers commence their first league outing on Sunday evening and are away in Quilty to Kilmurry Ibreckan. The Banner have 2 teams one in the Michael Green league and the other in the Georgie Fitzpatrick league. Both games are on in Quilty on Sunday evening with a 5pm throw in for the first game, followed by the second game.
